UK - Over Half Of Workers Feel ‘Underpaid’ As Pressure Mounts On Employers (The Evening Standard)

More than half, or 52%, of workers in the UK believe they are being underpaid amid the current inflation crisis, reports The Evening Standard citing research from Indeed UK. This feeling of being underpaid has prompted 22% of worker to either turn to their employers for a pay rise or search for a new job. Staff within the health and medical industry were most likely to feel underpaid (64%), while those in hospitality and leisure (61%) and legal (58%) were the next most likely to feel that their salaries are insufficient. Indeed’s research also found that 76% of workers believed their employer should provide some level of support to staff to help them manage the cost of living crisis.
