Location: Surrey area

Report to: Finance Manager

Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (4 days in the office)

Summary:

To provide financial support to the business, including through analysis, interpretation and presentation, support decision making, development of processes, controls and policy and the day to day operations.

What You'll be Doing Each Day:

Management Accounts

  • Produce the Management Accounts pack to timetable, variance analysis and commentary for £20M revenue business
  • Liaise with budget holders and the Finance Team to ensure all inputs for the accounts are received on a timely basis.
  • Compile all month-end journals including accruals/prepayments and upload to finance system
  • Ensure integrity of the pack and continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with the FC
  • Address any inaccuracies or differences/constructively challenge client departments regarding their source data to ensure accuracy, quality and completeness of all incoming data
  • Management of the Senior Finance Assistant and Finance Analyst
  • Assist the AP team where applicable, ensuring day to day tasks are completed on a timely basis to ensure month end process is efficient
  • Oversee all the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of year end accounts and statutory accounts with support from the FC, liaising with auditors as required
  • Bank payments processing/Credit card management and analysis

Others

  • Maintain accounting records for a small charity
  • Involvement in projects to develop/improve systems and processes
  • Providing financial training and support as required, including assisting membership team through the annual membership renewal process
  • Ensure processes and procedures are properly documented
  • Other ad hoc analysis, reporting and duties as prescribed to assist in achieving Finance Department objectives.

The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Qualified or Qualified by Experience, with UK financial experience with previous responsibility for Management Accounts, commercial analysis and stock management.
  • Excellent IT skills including experience of using reporting tools to extract data from underlying financial systems
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge (including look ups and pivot tables)
  • Proactive, confident, actively seeks and shares knowledge, skills and expertise with colleagues.
  • Ability to use initiative and work pro-actively with strong problem solving skills
  • Highly numerate with strong organizational capability
  • Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders across the Club.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Demonstrate great teamwork
  • Flexible and adaptable to the changing demands of the business.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to spot and correct errors
