Interim Category Manager Production Equipment - What You'll be Doing:

  • Sourcing activities for £50m of Oral solid dose & Inspection machine spend.
  • Accountable for the implementation of the category strategy initiatives for OSD, Inspection Machines equipment globally.
  • Lead procurement portfolio activities: projects / RFP, contract reviews, negotiation and vendor performance.
  • Manage negotiations with strategic suppliers across the categories.
  • Balancing the use of global suppliers to the use of new and emerging suppliers to maximise value and support diverse supply.
  • Manage and reduce a pool of suppliers worldwide through preferred supplier usage.
  • Execute and lead contract performance and governance.
  • Supporting Value Engineering and Savings Programs: Optimize the performance of existing assets in addition to the on-going buying responsibility for capital equipment.
  • Support Global Category Manager with developing, updating, upgrading of global category strategies for OSD, Inspection Machines, and Robotics.
  • Partner with key stakeholders globally to deploy global strategies.  Results will be delivered through their teams, creating a compelling & achievable vision, supported by a robust change management process.
  • Implement & embed Strategic Sourcing throughout the region.
  • Build powerful network with key stakeholders in order to agree and progress procurement strategies in line with Business requirements.  Key stakeholders include Head of Engineering, Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SME’s), Site Directors, Supply Chain Leads in Pharma, Consumer & Vaccines.
  • Leading and motivating multi-cultural and cross-functional teams.
  • Awareness of cultural diversity requirements.
  • Ensuring the transfer of best practices across regions.


Interim Category Manager Production Equipment - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Relevant experience in procurement CAPEX or Production Equipment.
  • Experience of implementing category strategy initiatives
  • Proven negotiations and contract management skills.
  • English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus.
  • Excellent Systems skills including SAP Ariba
  • Able to work independently, yet collaboratively and in alignment with the Category Manager, in a matrix environment and with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Excel
