Working hours - 9-5 with flexibility when necessary.

Operations Officer - What You'll be Doing:

  • Take ownership of processing daily trades and completing each transaction accurately and efficiently
  • Recognise and manage operational risks involved with each type of transaction.
  • CDD/KYC collating the CDD documents for Financial Institutions (e.g. Nostro, Vostro Bank) and screening new customers using systems;
  • Treasury products processing and settlement – mainly (inter-bank) loan/deposit, Foreign Exchange / FX Swap, Bond settlement, Repo / Reverse Repo, Interest & Cross-currency swaps.
  • Correspondent banking/GBP clearing – process payments in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Provide backup for tasks such as loan administration for syndicated and bilateral loans, trade finance transaction, etc;
  • General Account Management – populate the core banking system with new account and/or customer data; process incoming third-party payments and populate the core banking system with remittance data to facilitate the creation of SWIFT payment messages.
  • Back-office reporting – manage reports for departmental and management information;
  • Additional ad hoc tasks as required by the manager.

Operations Officer - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Experience in banking operations, e.g. Payments, Settlement, Trade Finance and Treasury Operations.
  • SWIFT handling experience (MT103 / 202) is essential – additional experience preferred, e.g. MT300/ 320/ 541/ 543/700/707/799/ etc.
  • Ideally understand and be familiar with UCP600, URDG, ISBP etc.
  • Ideally Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Economics/Finance/Accounting.
