Your New Job Title: Mandarin speaking Business Development Manager (FMCG)

The Skills You'll Need: Fluent in Mandarin and English, with solid Business Development experience in FMCG. Have valid Driving Licence

Job Status: Permanent, hybrid working (2 days in the office; will be more than 2 days for meetings or trainings when needed)

Business Development Manager - Summary:

  • Driving sales and distribution, and identifying potential business opportunities to build continuous strong sales growth for the assigned area.
  • The position also supports our distributors and trade partners to ensure their commitment to deliver the shipment sales targets, in-market sales, and smooth supply of our products in the market.

Business Development Manager - What You'll be Doing:

  • Lead and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve sales and distribution targets in the region.
  • Identify key strategic accounts and opportunities that will ensure effective coverage of the region, and tracking performance according to set objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to maximize sales growth and profitability in the region.
  • Ensure healthy inventory levels at regional distributors’ warehouses for product availability and smooth supply across all relevant channels.
  • Collate and analyse information on distribution, prices, and competitors’ activities to support business planning.
  • Manage and conduct product demonstrations and presentations to pitch for key accounts.
  • Organise and conduct in-store demonstration and sampling activities, which may involve weekend working.
  • Assist the Senior Business Development Manager with sales planning and tracking A&P and other channel expenditure in-line with relevant budgetary controls.
  • Manage new product introductions and launches to the trade in support of regional distributors to maximize distribution.
  • Represent the company in Oriental Food trade events and maintain a good relationship with different trade contacts and associations.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with regional distributors and their sales teams, ensuring timely flow of information to support sales and development opportunities.
  • Update and manage regional distributors’ records and contacts.
  • Ensure effective trade coverage and regular field-based contact managing an economical yet comprehensive journey plan.
  • Support the company in ensuring a good representation and reputation of the company brand in the trade to protect its brand image and equity.
  • Periodically update on the latest trends and findings in the market.

Business Development Manager - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

Essential -

  • Fluent in spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Solid sales experience in FMCG industry, preferably with distributor management, supply chain and trade marketing experience.
  • Prepared to work flexible hours and fine with travel when needed.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Highly organised and self & result-driven.
  • Excellent social, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft office skills for sales figure analysis, reporting, and presentation.
  • Team player and be ready to assist colleagues in other departments when required.
  • Chinese food lover/keen to cook.

Desirable -

  • Be able to speak a local language of South Europe.
  • Previous established network and experience in these markets.
  • Good knowledge of the working kitchen will facilitate the communication with some customers.
