Your New Job Title: Purchase ledger/ Accounts Assistant
The Skills You'll Need: purchase ledger, AP, management accounts, AAT      
Your New Salary: £27,000
Location: Derby, Nottingham - Currently working from home but will be working in the office in near future.

What You'll be Doing Each Day:

Account Payable

  • Posting purchase invoices and staff expense
  • Code and check invoices
  • Check and reconcile supplier statements
  • File invoices and statements
  • Deal with purchase enquiries
  • Send reminder deadline for payment run
  • Prepare payment run report
  • Send remittance advice to supplier
  • Verify supplier/customer/employee master

Management account support

  • Posting prepayment & accrual
  • Take a full ownership of accounting tasks and complete day to day financial transactions as well as the month end close tasks, including review and post prepayments/accruals, fixed assets, stock, review balance sheet, PL & BS analysis, all relevant adjustments, preparation of month reports for two departments

Other tasks (but not exclusive)

  • Support the internal and external audit by providing information requested
  • Verify the posted purchase invoices and prepare the payment list
  • Other ad-hoc tasks, reporting and projects to assist Assistant Managers and Head of Finance


The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:


  • Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent reoccurrence
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills and be able to manage a busy workload independently
  • Highly competent in analysis and interpretation of information.
  • Highly numerate with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in developing relationships with internal customers
  • Prepare to take ownership of tasks and outputs


Skills & Qualifications


  • AAT or AAT studier
  • Previous experience in Purchase Ledger
  • Intermediate level - Excel


Job status: Full-time, Permanent
Start date: ASAP
