Job Title  – Japanese speaking Researcher

Your New Salary: £30,000 -£40,000 (depending on experience)

Office based - London

Permanent, Full-time

Start: ASAP

Working hours:  35 hours/week

 Japanese-speaking Researcher - What You'll be Doing: 

• Conducting research on a range of current affairs topics
• Reporting findings back to correspondents in a clear, succinct manner
• Making short, effective summaries of assigned topics
• Attending conferences, taking notes and reporting findings back to the Editorial Bureau
• Schedule appointments and prepare in advance for interviews
• Conducting short interviews both in person and by telephone
• Gathering information and comments from a wide range of people on specified topics
• Working under pressure and meeting time limits in a busy newsroom
• Ability to adapt to the demands of working with a 24hr news cycle

 Japanese-speaking Researcher - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

• Mother tongue standard  English and the ability to quickly analyse, process, and summarise information across a variety of genres
• A demonstrable interest in UK-related topics such as economics, business, or finance
• Knowledge of Japanese culture and/or language, along with an understanding of corporate culture in Japan and Asia
