People First MULTILINGUAL Key Consultants

Ian at People First MULTILINGUAL

Ian is the manager of People First MULTILINGUAL. He has been recruiting for 11 years, 9.5 of those here at People First MULTILINGUAL, so he understands what makes people tick. He’s also lived overseas in both Italy and the Czech Republic and that’s why this role is ideal for him; he may be based in London, but he still meets people of all nationalities every day.  So if you are a recruiter looking for a language speaker or a bi/tri-lingual candidate seeking a new career role, then Ian can help. You can bet on it!

Ian’s a betting man.  There’s nothing he likes better than a bit of a flutter and a couple of years ago he even went on holiday to Kentucky so he could collect his winnings from the Kentucky Derby!  Ian is a keen Leeds United fan and loves to go back home to Leeds so that he can support the team and enjoy some of his Mum's wonderful home cooking.  Ian also spends a lot of his free time grooving to the funky tunes of his brother’s band, The Lo Fidelity All Stars – look out for them!

James at People First MULTILINGUAL

James’s primary focus within People First is on banking and finance roles with languages for his international clients.  In addition, he is responsible for China-related recruitment: James is a fluent Mandarin speaker with an in-depth understanding of  Chinese business culture and practices gained through his studies at Sheffield and from his work experience in China.

James describes himself as one of a dying breed – a Coventry City fan! – and has had some interesting experiences to date. During his university years, James volunteered as a note taker for a blind student:  He started to escort her to the examination room, only to find out that he’d picked up the wrong student! After High school, James moved to a small rural town in China where he quickly learnt his first three words in Mandarin: “Beer”, “ice-cream” and “toilet”! Since moving to London, his “best day ever” was meeting Jimmy Page in High Street Kensington and he recently completed Nike’s Run to the Beat half marathon in just 2 hours and 10 minutes. What will he do next…?
